Two-Day Orientation Programme for the entry level students at M M Modi College, Patiala
Two day orientation programme was organized at Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala at the commencement of the new academic session 2019-20. The objective of this well-designed introductory programme was to facilitate the smooth induction of new entrants in the college. College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar congratulated the new students and said that it is imperative to strike a balance between modern technology based process of learning and the wisdom of traditional educational values. He said that Modi College is committed to promote the fundamental values of higher education and believes in developing students as future leaders.
Vice Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Baljinder Kaur while addressing the students said that it is important for every student to behave in a disciplined way. She told that any type of Ragging, indecent behavior and threats to each other should be immediately reported to the teachers. She also advised the students to regularly contribute for the college magazine ‘The Luminary’.
Prof. Ved Parkash, Dean Students’ Welfare and NCC in charge of the college discussed the importance of NCC wing of the College, Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Dean Sports and Head Department of Punjabi and Prof. Nishan Singh, Head, Sports Department explained the achievements of the college students in the field of sports. Dr. Ashwani Sharma discussed with the students the relevance of sciences in today’s world. Dr. Rajeev Sharma informed the students about the various research activities and projects of Science Department, he talked about the relevance of National Service Scheme and informed the students about Buddy Programme, which is being run by the government against the menace of drug-addiction. Prof. Jagdeep Kaur informed the students about the ‘Women Cell’ of the college and its role. Prof. Vinay Garg, Head, Dept of Computer Science discussed the Student Information System, functioning in the college. Dr. Ajit Kumar, Registrar of the College explained the academic calendar, pattern of house examinations and eligibility criteria for appearing in final exams. Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Deputy Registrar talked about various scholarships schemes, Prof. Harmohan Sharma, NSS Programme Officer informed about various clubs and societies functioning in the college. Dr. Rohit Sachdeva, Placement Officer of the college informed the students about functioning of the placement cell. Dr. Neeraj explained about Add on course in Computerized Accounting, Prof. Vaneet Kaur explained Spoken English Course and Prof. Kuldeep Kaur talked about course in Journalism and Mass Communication.
The students participated in all the sessions. All faculty members and staff were present on this occasion.

ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਦੋ-ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਓਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਆਗ਼ਾਜ਼
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਦਾਖਿਲ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਲਈ ਦੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਉਰੀਐਂਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਆਗਾਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੇ ਵੱਖੱਵੱਖ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ, ਸਲਾਨਾ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ, ਸਮੈਸਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ, ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ., ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਗਰਮੀਆਂ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਖੋੱਵੱਖਰੇ ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ, ਵਜ਼ੀਫ਼ਾ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ, ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈਂਲ, ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈਂਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਉੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ, ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਆ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੰਪਰਾਗਤ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਤੁਲਨ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਨਾ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਂਚੱਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਸੰਸਥਾਨ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਅਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਪਲੱਬਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ੧ਿਜ਼ਕਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਉਂਚਤਮ ਮਿਆਰਾਂ ਨੁੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਅਦਾਰਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁੱਪੱਖੀ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਉਸਾਰੀ ਲਈ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਾਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਪ੍ਰੋ. (ਡਾ.) ਬਲਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਮੌਲਿਕ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਬਣਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਬਣਾਈ ਰੱਖਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ, ਗ਼ੈਰੱਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰਾਨਾ ਹਰਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਗਲਤ ਵਤੀਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪਰਕ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵੇਦ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼, ਡੀਨ ਸਟੂਡੈਂਟ ਭਲਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਐਨ.ਸੀ.ਸੀ. ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਦੀਪ ਸਿੰਘ, ਡੀਨ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਸਿੰਘ, ਮੁਖੀ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਪਲੱਬਧੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ। ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ, ਲਾਈਫ਼ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਡੀਨ, ਫ਼ਿਜ਼ਿਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼ ਨੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹੱਤਵਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਾਈ। ਡਾ. ਰਾਜੀਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼, ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਬੱਡੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਸਾਂਝੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਜਗਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ, ਜੌਗਰਫੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੂਮੈਨ ਸੈਂਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ, ਮੁਖੀ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਇੰਨਫਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੰਗ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕਾਲਜ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਕਲੰਡਰ, ਘਰੇਲੂ ਪਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਪਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ ਨੇ ਵੱਖੱਵੱਖ ਸਕਾਲਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ, ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਖੱਵੱਖ ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਰੋਹਿਤ ਸਚਦੇਵਾ ਨੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲ ਰਹੇ ਪਲੇਸਮੈਂਟ ਸੈਂਲ ਬਾਰੇ ਲੋੜੀਂਦੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੰਪਿਟਰਾਈਜ਼ਡ ਅਕਾਉਂਟਿੰਗ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਨੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਸਪੋਕਨ ਇੰਗਲਿਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਜਰਨਲਿਜ਼ਮ ਐਂਡ ਮਾਸ ਕਮਿਊਨੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲ ਰਹੇ ਐਡੱਔਨ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸ਼ਲਾਘਾਯੋਗ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸਮੂਹ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਵੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਰਹੇ।
